5 Easy Tips

If you know me, I’m quite high-maintenance, and I love engaging my senses.

It means having those nice meals and experiences.

Yes, let’s live life to the fullest. 🙂

Well, don’t get it twisted — it’s not about splurging on expensive things and always breaking the bank.

Today, I’ll tell you five easy tips for living a luxurious lifestyle within your budget.

Tip 1: Always Ask for a Free Upgrade

Okay, I know this sounds a little out there, but hear me out.

Most of the time, you get the most basic version of whatever you pay for.

Take a hotel room as an example.

When you are on vacation, you definitely have to book a place where you’ll stay, so you’ll probably go online or check in to the hotel in person.

“It’s $5,000”, the receptionist will say, upon which you will swipe your card and get escorted to the room.

So, what happens?

You get to your room, and it’s not all the luxury you want, but you tell yourself, “It’s fine,” and unpack to start your vacay.

However, that’s not Mandy’s way.

I would definitely go back to the reception and ask for a free upgrade because hey, the quality just doesn’t match up with the price.

I’d imagine I might then be taken to the executive suite or asked to mention what items I need in my room to make it more glam.

I don’t do this often because we can’t travel now. (cry cry)

But whenever I go to a nice restaurant and they give me poor quality food, sorry (not sorry) I just feel like I need to give them feedback.

You should try it.

And no, it’s not being snobbish, deserving, or spoiled.

The market is competitive and it’s nice you are giving them feedback so that they can improve on their quality.

Tip 2: DIY

When we see other people live luxurious lives, with everything about them on-point, it is easy to assume that they pay other people to do things for them.

It could be anything as simple as a nail job or something as complicated as programming.

However, you might be surprised to learn that some of these people you see living luxuriously actually do pretty much a lot of things on their own, saving a lot on possessions or services that would otherwise dent their pockets.

Perhaps they do their own nails and still look gorge.

Maybe they design their own clothing and get heads turning everywhere they go.

Of course, do things that you actually enjoy doing.

For example, I definitely do not want to do my nails because that just requires too much attention.

However, I wouldn’t mind making myself a nice meal and pairing it with a nice glass of wine, especially if I am doing this for my friends.

You get the point.

So, the moral of all this is?

Find things you are paying others to do that you may actually enjoy doing yourself.

Tip 3: Go to Nice Places

This one is so obvious, right?

I mean, you always say someone is living luxuriously if they are always in nice places, don’t you?

And I agree.

Besides giving you that instant gratification of being in a high-end, posh space, visiting a nice place is an excellent experience and moment in your life.

But let me just give a tip here.

You don’t have to order the most expensive item on the menu — a cup of coffee will work just fine.

Tip 4: Upgrade Your Living Space and Office

Your living area and office are where you spend the most time.

If they do not give you that luxurious feel, you better get cracking and upgrade them.

You do not have to do the extraordinary.

It could be simple things such as removing those clutters and doing a paint job.

Speaking of which, I love warm white and gold because they give me a clean and luxurious feel.

That’s why I decorate my home with these two colors in mind.

Besides, you can put some art pieces in your space to make it fancy.

This goes back to my earlier point.

How about doing that piece of art yourself?

You might not know it, but small changes can go a long way in making a space feel more luxurious.

Tip 5: Know When to Go All Out and Budget for It

My final tip for living a luxurious life within a budget is to understand when you need to splurge and plan for that, so that you can enjoy that purchase with your full heart.

For example, every week there is a day which I assign as my rest day.

This is the day when I don’t think about my work AT ALL and would just go out and have fun with myself or my friends.

I budget for that and it usually won’t cost me more than USD100.

On other days of the week, I am quite frugal and I always seek to cut down on my expenses.

This budgeting exercise has also helped me enjoy and appreciate my rest day so much more.

Well, all of these tips are about external things.

But, let me take this moment to remind you this — feeling luxurious starts from within.

When you feel abundant, you radiate abundance.

If you are feeling resistant towards this statement, there may be some money blocks there.
